Video Collections Housed in the Districts

The collections listed below are housed in the school districts that have requested them. There is Mediography with each collection describing the videos in detail. Contact your audiovisual coordinator to find out if your school district has requested these collections and, if so where they are located.

 
 

Biography Collection

This Collection is a short study of prominent people in history. There are forty-seven videos in this collection ranging from ten to fifty minutes in length. There are for junior/senior high and college level students.

 

Driver Education Collection

This collection of videos deals with all the skills a person needs to be a safe and responsible driver today. The collection also covers what can happen when we do not use a motor vehicle in a responsible way. There are twenty-seven videos in this collection. Videos are used by the driver education instructors.

History in the Making (The Eighties)

The major political, cultural and social issues for each year of the two decades are brought vividly to life in these two, ten part historical series. The videos are forty-five to forty-eight minutes in length. The series are for intermediated through senior level students.

French Collection

French in Action is a collection available to the school district. It puts students in the presence of authentic, un-simplified French and trains them to use it in the context of actual communication. There are fifty-two, thirty minute videos in this collection. They are for junior/senior level students.

 

Spanish Collection

Destino: An Introduction to Spanish is for students studying beginning Spanish.

As you watch the shows, you will follow an unforgettable journey that has been

designed to make learning Spanish enjoyable for the student. This series consists of fifty-two, thirty minute videos. They are for junior/senior level students.

 

History of the 20th Century

The series is hosted by Sir David Frost. The twenty-six part series offers the first comprehensive look at the many facets of the 20th Century. Rare archival footage and interviews with participants in major events bringing modern history dramatically to life. Each tape covers a different topic and are forty-eight minutes in length.

 

19th Century Turning Points in U.S. History

America entered the 19th century as an agricultural nation of 16 states and 5.3 million people. This series explores three wars and leaves the century as an industrial power of 45 states and 76 million people. Narrated by Alphonse Keasley. There are eight videos each twenty-five minutes in length.
