509 Learning Resources Center Services
(RWADA)
This Co-Ser provides van delivery service twice a week, September through June. It also provides access to a Media Library consisting of more than 10,000 curriculum-related videos, CD-ROM's, DVDs, Big Books, laser discs and audiovisual kits. Medianet, an indexed, searchable catalog of all materials, is available on-line.
Multimedia projectors, portable sound system, digital camera, DVD player, etc. are available for loan. Materials may be booked by phone, request form or via the Medianet booking program. Off-air and satellite taping of teleconferences and educational programming are available. Seasonal elementary video collections, special thematic video collections (biography, careers, foreign language, driver education, etc.), and more than 8,000 student use site collection videos are provided on-site to component schools; these videos stay in the district for extended periods of time. A preview program, staff development in using the booking program, mediographies, media consultation and audiovisual coordinators' meetings are all a part of this service. A laminating service is also available.
Cost Basis for general LRC service is RWADA.
