Southwest Career & Technical Education Center is located just outside of Gouverneur, NY in the hamlet of Fowler and serves an average of 280 students from 4 component school districts: Clifton-Fine, Edwards-Knox, Gouverneur and Harrisville.
Students have an opportunity to choose from nine high quality, 2 year programs: Automotive Technology, Building Trades, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Education & Human Services, Graphic Communications, Heavy Equipment Operations and Metalworking. As well as, Allied Health, Pharmacy Tech and CNA which are offered as one-year programs.
Students are given the opportunity to take challenging classes in a customized and relevant tech program that helps to prepare them for a specific career or college, learn hands on skills to advance in the trade of their choice, for now or the future. Many programs have Articulation agreements, giving our students the potential to gain 3 to 6 college credits upon successful completion of the tech program.
