The St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Seaway Career and Technical Education Center is honored to announce that Brock Cousineau, a student at Norwood-Norfolk Central School District, has been selected as the 2025 National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Year by CareerSafe.
This prestigious award honors outstanding CTE students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, dedication to their career pathways, and a commitment to workplace safety. Brock, a senior in the Natural Resource Management program, has distinguished himself through his academic excellence, strong work ethic, and passion for environmental stewardship.
“Brock exemplifies the core values of CareerSafe’s mission,” said John Morgan, program instructor for Natural Resource Management. “His leadership and dedication to excellence make him a standout example of what CTE students can accomplish.”
In recognition of his achievements, Brock Cousineau will receive a $2,500 scholarship to support his future studies and local and national recognition.
Brock’s selection came from a highly competitive field of over 300 nominees across 32 states, representing more than 30 different career pathways. His ability to balance academics, and community service—while serving as a student leader and member of both the National Technical Honor Society and the National Honor Society—demonstrates the qualities that set him apart.
In addition to his academic and technical accomplishments, Brock is captain of the hockey team, participates in the Trap Shooting Club, and holds several part-time jobs. He is a UDig NY Certified Excavator and a dedicated member of the Norfolk Fire Department, where he holds certifications in firefighting and First Aid/CPR.
