Leaders from across the region gathered in Lake Placid on Friday, February 13, 2026, for the Annual Area 6 Legislative Breakfast. The event serves as a forum for education leaders and state lawmakers to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaborate on strategies to support schools across the North Country.
SLL BOCES District Superintendent Darin Saiff and Deputy Superintendent Jim Nee were in attendance, joining superintendents from across Area 6 for a morning of conversation, advocacy and regional collaboration. Held at the High Peaks Resort, the event brought together local legislators including Assemblymember Michael Cashman, Assemblymember Matthew Simpson, and Senator Dan Stec.
Throughout the morning, educational leaders and lawmakers discussed key priorities impacting schools in our region from funding needs and workforce challenges to program sustainability and opportunities to better support students and families. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the event agenda, speaker details, and resources through the Webex Events conference app.
The Area 6 Legislative Breakfast continues to foster collaboration and problem-solving to support students across the North Country.
