Agricultural Studies Academy

Agricultural Studies Academy (ASA) operates in partnership with the Cornell Cooperative Extension in Canton, NY. Senior students have the opportunity to attend Agricultural Studies Academy for a full day with a comprehensive introduction to agricultural science and business management while completing senior high school requirements. There is also an AM half day senior option and a PM half day junior option.  Topic areas covered junior year include: animal science, natural resources, maple, ag mechanics, and plant science.  Topic areas covered senior year include: vet science, food science, maple, ag business and crop sciences. During this program students will receive hands-on experience with animals and equipment at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm as well as work-based learning opportunities at various sites around St. Lawrence County.

Integrated Academic Credits Available: For half day students: 1 credit of Math, 1 credit of Science and 1 credit of ELA  over the course of the two year curriculum.  For full day students:  1 credit of Math, 1 credit of Science, .5 credit of Economics, .5 credit of Participation in Government, .5 credit for Physical Education and 1 credit of ELA  over the course of the one year curriculum.
