Seniors in the SLL BOCES Agricultural Studies Academy, based at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm in Canton, are graduating with more than just a diploma – they are leaving with real-world experience and a strong foundation for future success.
Over the past two years, students have participated in a hands-on, career-focused program that blends classroom learning with practical application. They developed skills in key areas such as veterinary science, food science, crop production and agricultural business, while gaining firsthand experience working with animals, farm equipment and daily agricultural operations.
In addition to earning core academic credits, students engaged in meaningful work-based learning opportunities that prepared them for both college and careers in today’s evolving agriculture and food industries.
Through their dedication and hard work, these graduates are well-equipped to take the next step, whether entering the workforce or continuing their education in agricultural fields.
