Student-athletes from across Section X recently gathered at Clarkson University for the Fall Student Leadership Summit, a day dedicated to developing leadership skills, fostering teamwork and inspiring students to make a positive impact in their schools and communities.
The summit brought together over 150 student-athletes, representing 24 Section X school districts, with each district sending student leaders to participate in the event. Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive workshops and group discussions focused on communication, teamwork, character development, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
The event was organized through a partnership between Section X and DiMarco Consulting, with members of Clarkson University’s Golden Knight Battalion helping to facilitate activities throughout the day. Their guidance and leadership provided students with engaging opportunities to collaborate, build confidence, and strengthen their leadership skills.
Participants also had the chance to connect with peers from across the region, share experiences, and reflect on the important role student-athletes play as leaders both on and off the field. The summit encouraged students to lead by example, support their teammates, and use their influence to make a positive difference in their schools and communities.
Section X Executive Director Mark Wilson emphasized the importance of investing in student leadership.
“Our goal is to help students recognize the impact they can have on those around them,” said Section X Executive Director Mark Wilson. “When student-athletes lead with character, respect, and accountability, it strengthens their teams, their schools, and their communities.”
By investing in the development of student leaders, Section X continues to empower young people to lead with integrity, inspire others, and strengthen school communities throughout St. Lawrence County and beyond.
